Week 32 of Your Baby’s Development

Your baby is the size of a summer squash!

What Your Baby is Doing

Your baby now has fully formed fingernails and toenails. They can most likely focus on large objects that are not too far away, and this ability to focus will stay that way until birth. Your baby’s quarters are getting reasonably close, so you may notice a small decrease in movement. If you feel that there is not enough movement, call your healthcare professional immediately.

What Your Body is Doing

You are likely gaining close to a pound a week. Half of that goes straight to your baby, who will gain one-third to half their birth weight in the next seven weeks in preparation for life outside the womb. You may find that you are having trouble catching your breath; this is normal. If it becomes excessive, contact your healthcare professional immediately.

What You Should Eat

Broccoli is a super vegetable that tastes great, has protein, and is loaded with vitamins that are beneficial to you and your baby.
